Oceans 8 Charity Swim 2026

South Africa’s first warm water ocean swim of its kind – entirely for charity!

The Oceans 8 Charity Swim returns to Durban on 23rd & 24th (25th) May 2026, hosted at the Durban Undersea Club. This unique event combines the thrill of open-water swimming with meaningful impact, supporting charities with a footprint in KwaZulu-Natal.

Project Rhino invites swimmers to join our team and use your sport to support frontline rhino conservation efforts in KZN – where protection on the ground, community partnerships, and ongoing prevention work are essential to safeguarding wildlife under constant threat.

Swimmers can choose between two distances: the 8-mile swim, or for those ready to push further, the challenging 16-mile swim, completed over two days. Every mile in the ocean helps drive real conservation action on land.

Since its launch, the Oceans 8 Charity Swim has raised almost R3 million for over 23 charities – supporting conservation, environmental and community-based initiatives.

Spots are limited. Be part of the impact and join Team Project Rhino today!

Run the Coast 2026

5 charities. One route. No retreat.

From 28 June to 12 July 2026, Gavin Skevington will take on an extraordinary challenge: running the entire KZN coastline, from Port Edward to the Ponto border post — covering 600 km over 15 consecutive days. No shortcuts. No rest days. Just relentless kilometres, day after day.
Run the Coast is about pushing physical and mental limits to create real-world impact! Through this challenge, Gavin is raising funds and awareness for five charities, with Project Rhino proud to be one of them.
Every day, rhinos face ongoing threats from highly organised poaching. Project Rhino supports the rangers, K9 and aerial units, and conservation teams working on the frontlines to protect wildlife and keep both people and animals safe.
This run reflects that reality. Conservation has no easy days – only consistency, commitment, and the decision to keep going. Run the Coast mirrors that mindset.
Support the journey. Be part of the impact. Stand with those protecting our wildlife every day.

Run For Rangers

An epic 100 km run through Babanango Game Reserve

Run for Rangers is a unique, premium adventure offering a fully immersive experience in the breathtaking 20,000-hectare Babanango Game Reserve. This is not a race, but more a powerful journey – running alongside rangers, experiencing the landscape they protect, and gaining rare insight into life on the frontline of conservation.

Participants will cover 100km over two days, tackling challenging terrain through a Big 5 reserve, before concluding the experience with a sponsored Rhino Experience – a rare and meaningful insight into active conservation work.
Founded by Harry Bailey, Run for Rangers was created to honour and support the unsung heroes of conservation: our Rangers – the guardians of conservation.

The beneficiaries of the funds, Project Rhino, powered by the Sport for Lives movement, will use the funding to support these dedicated individuals who are at the forefront of the battle against poaching and other threats to wildlife.

Are you as tough as a Ranger?

Civvies Day for Rhino

Our youth are our future leaders and conservationists

September is World Rhino Month, with World Rhino Day marked on Tuesday, 22 September 2026. It’s a time to celebrate our wildlife and inspire the next generation to take action!
We invite all schools to take part in our Civvies Day for Rhino – encouraging learners to play their part in protecting our wildlife.

Schools can choose any day in September for learners to wear civvies in exchange for a suggested R10 donation per person. Each donation goes a long way in supporting Project Rhino’s conservation efforts in KZN, which include a dedicated aerial patrol, K9 and horse anti-poaching units and education projects like Rhino Art.

Please email schools@projectrhinokzn.org to get involved and help raise awareness.
