We have a number of exciting fundraising events in the pipeline, but unfortunately, many of these are on hold due to the current COVID-19 risks. Please keep an eye this, and on our Facebook, page for more details.
Wildlife Ranger Challenge
COVID19 has brought tourism revenues across Africa to a halt, leaving a huge deficit in conservation funding. Wildlife Rangers are now uniting around the Wildlife Ranger Challenge, a race with one goal: to raise money to support thousands of rangers and protect iconic African wildlife such as elephants, pangolins, rhinos and lions.
Our Project Rhino K9 rangers are gearing up to take part in the Wildlife Ranger Challenge on 3rd October alongside 50 ranger teams across Africa to build comradery and raise funds and awareness of the hardship currently faced by those in their profession. You can join them! Sign up for the Wildlife Ranger Challenge: https://wildliferangerchallenge.org/registration/ to walk or run 5, 10, or 21 km wherever you are with Africa’s rangers.
Support the Project Rhino K9 team directly by following the link:https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/project-rhino-k9-team All donations will be matched by the Scheinberg Relief Fund, doubling your generous contribution!
Follow our social media pages for updates on the K9-Unit’s progress.
uBhejane Xtreme Mountain Bike Challenge
Are you tough enough? The uBhejane Xtreme Mountain Bike Challenge is an iconic – and arguably one of South Africa’s toughest – mountain bike challenges. This year’s event is known as the iSimangaliso Edition and is an opportunity for riders to cycle through SA’s first World Heritage Site. The event includes four distances, ranging from 130 km to 350 km. uBhejane X is a registered NPO and the race is a fundraiser for rhino conservation activities of Project Rhino and Helping Rhinos. Rob Caskie: An African Odyssey
Rob Caskie is one of South Africa’s most sought after keynote speakers and story tellers, with historical accounts which captivate and motivate audiences.
“I share human stories which engage audiences and challenge the way they interact, work and lead their lives. My stories are essentially about human beings in extremis, and their behaviour when ‘the chips are down’. Like tea bags, human beings only reveal their true strength in hot water. Epics of human struggle and triumphs of the human spirit create fantastic canvasses by which modern situations may be measured…”
The theme of the evening: An African Odyssey – A romp through the last 200 years – will take you through South Africa’s diverse and special history over the last two centuries or so. From the arrival of Nguni people around 1300 years ago, to the arrival of the European settlers in the Cape, Shaka Zulu’s ascendancy and the Great Trek, it promises to be a night to remember.
Date and Time: TBC
Venue: Hilton College Theatre
Tickets: R180, available from webtickets
Profits from the evening will support Project Rhino’s conservation work.
