Kira Macdougall

Based at the African Conservation Trust (ACT) head office in Hillcrest, KwaZulu-Natal, Kira lends support to Project Rhino’s projects in a number of areas, including fundraising and administration. Kira holds a Bachelor of Social Science (Hons) degree, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2006 from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and subsequently obtaining her Honours Cum Laude in Human Resource Management and Entrepreneurship in 2007. She has also successfully completed short courses in website design, online mapping and Social Media Marketing.

Kira is a member of the World Youth Wildlife Summit core organising team and is responsible for on-site branding and design, as well as providing logistical and administrative support. Kira also assists in the writing and research of funding proposals as well as progress reports to Project Rhino’s donors and funders.

Kira has been employed as a Geographic Information System (GIS) Assistant with ACT since 2011 and has been involved in a number of conservation projects that use spatial technologies to map and digitally document heritage resources and environmental sites. Kira also enjoys creating written and graphic design content for Project Rhino’s website, social media and fundraising campaigns. She has almost a decade of experience in the NGO sector.
